Real Housewives of Sydney star Victoria Montano has unpacked all the drama that went down on this week’s episode of the controversial reality series.
Speaking on Joel Creasey’s the RHOS official podcast on Nova Entertainment after the episode aired on Tuesday, Victoria recalled the moment “fur-gate” unfolded on the Binge series, saying their was a lot of “hypocrisy” among the group.
To recap, “fur-gate” took centre stage on this week after Victoria was schooled by Dr Kate Adams and Terry Biviano about her decision to wear a fur-collared coat to a conservation park during a girls’ weekend away to Killcare on the NSW Central Coast.
Kate – who is a vet and staunch animal activist – believed Victoria’s choice of clothing was inappropriate and asked her to reconsider her outfit, and Terry seconded this.
After a heated debate in the car on the way to the conservation park, Victoria – who is the owner of luxury fashion label Sports Luxe – decided to take off the fur lining on her coat, but she made it known she was unhappy about being told what she can and can’t wear.
“I respect everyone’s choices in life and everyone’s differences – that’s the main thing,” Victoria said on the podcast broadcasted from Sydney’s Nova HQ.

“But I do think in terms of this issue on this show, there was a lot of hypocrisy. We had leather jackets, ostrich feathers, we had goose-down,” she pointed out of the other women’s outfits, before claiming that the “filler in faces” of some of her castmates were
surely tested on animals like rabbits.
“I mean, how many rabbits died, that’s the question I want to ask,” she added.
Also in her defence, Victoria said that the facility was being branded as a “conservation park” but in reality it was a “reptile park”.
“I looked it up the night before,” she told Creasey. “They are a conservation park for venomous snakes and frogs. I don’t eat frogs even when I’m in Paris, and I didn’t wear my python boots, so I do think I was reading the room in the most VM way possible!”
For Victoria, the “heartbreaking” part about what went down was the “fracture” it created in her friendship with Terry.
“You can see in the episode how upset I was. I wasn’t even angry, I was just so shocked because Terry and I have a lot of history together – our little kids went to school together since they were 2 and they’re 10 now,” she said.
“The lay of the land with Terry is we totally made up. We made up on camera, we made up off camer. But, obviously, she spends a lot of time with Kate now, and I don’t want to spend a lot of time with Kate, so I don’t get to see [Terry] as much as I would like to anymore.”
And Victoria says she’s also sad about the breakdown of her friendship with Kate as when they met just prior to filming, they had “electric friendship chemistry”.
“I was her closest person, and then I had a longstanding friendship with Terry … so in that moment where Terry sided with Kate, it was the beginning of the fracture of the whole show of the group,” Victoria said.
“That fractures everything for every episode moving forward, which is so heartbreaking because I thought we were having a lot of fun until that point.”
As for her calling Kate a “lunatic” on the last episode, Victoria clarified it’s because Kate is “very passionate”.
“But when you’re passionate about something, you have to expect someone else could be passionate the same way but in reverse,” she explained.
“I’m heartbroken that our friendship ended because I really thought it was something special

but I hope you see in the later episodes, that I do really try to reach my hand out to her because I wanted to salvage that feeling.
“You don’t often meet someone and have electricity like that … So I hope that one day we can come together, but right now my heart is bruised.”
