American nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit took Sydney by storm with a powerhouse performance at the iconic Hordern Pavilion on Thursday night as part of their Australian tour for the Good Things festival.
The rockers, known for hits like Rollin’ and Nookie, left fans hungry for more with their signature high-energy show.
During the electrifying performance, a fan threw a pair of women’s underwear onto the stage, which lead singer Fred Durst promptly wrapped around his microphone – with Careless Whispers by George Michael playing in the background – adding a playful touch to the rock spectacle where he asked those in attendance to slow dance together.
“We’re making friends out here, it’s all love in Sydney,” said Durst.
Despite the comical display, many were shocked, not by the underwear, but by how much Durst has changed.
Known for his ever-changing appearance, the frontman surprised the audience with another new look, sporting a mop of curly hair in stark contrast to his familiar 90s/2000s style.
Having only performed in Australia on a few occasions, Limp Bizkit made sure to give metalheads from the late ‘90s and early 2000s a night to remember.
The Hordern Pavilion witnessed a mosh pit frenzy, with Durst and the band tearing through a set list featuring classics like My Generation, Take a Look Around and My Way.
Adding to the excitement, Limp Bizkit treated fans to three dynamic cover songs.
The first was a cover of Thieves by Ministry, with the second being a surprisingly heavy rendition of George Michael’s Faith.
But fans were truly blown away during their cover of Rage Against the Machine’s Killing in the Name, just before the concert reached its pinnacle, with the band closing the show with their most iconic track, Break Stuff.

Also performing on Thursday night, rock superstars the Foo Fighters kicked off the Australian leg of their world tour to get the ball rolling on 2023’s massive summer of world-class musicians hitting Australian stages.
The Fooies are just the first in line across a summer that will also see Taylor Swift, Blink 182, Pink and Matchbox 20, among others perform.
Limp Bizkit has one side show remaining in Melbourne.
