Prince William “doesn’t want to know” his brother, claims Prince Harry’s biographer in shocking extracts from his new book.
There have been hopes for years that Harry and William could eventually reconcile and become as close as they once were.
However, tragic new claims from Harry’s friend and biographer, Omid Scobie, in his book Endgame, appear to put to bed any semblance of hope that the pair will ever act like close brothers again.
Mr Scobie claims in the book, in an excerpt shared with PEOPLE, that William “doesn’t want to know” his younger brother, and believes that he has been “brainwashed by an army of therapists”.
“I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a ‘defector’ and said that was William’s view,” he says in the book.
“These were two men who once upon a time were firmly aligned in their outlook. One of them had to move on to also protect the crown. They will never see eye-to-eye at this point. They’re on completely opposite sides … that won’t change.”
According to Mr Scobie, things went from bad to worse following the Queen’s sudden detereoation in health.
He claims that Harry urgently contacted William to see how his brother would be travelling to see the Queen, only to be ignored. He eventually booked a private flight to Scotland for himself, but in the end it turned out to be too late and the Queen tragically passed.
To make matters worse, Mr Scobie claims Harry initially had “no idea” about how serious the situation was when he got on his private flight.

At the time, “sources” briefed British newspapers that Charles had personally informed Harry of what was happening. However, Mr Scobie claims that wasn’t the case, and that his youngest son was left “crushed”.
Despite his own feelings, Mr Scobie went on to share that Harry is “ready to move past” things, if only William, who still “refuses to talk with him,” would just let it go.
“He’s accepted that things are unlikely to change, particularly with his brother — who refuses to even properly talk with him,” said a source. As Harry later explained to a friend, ‘I’m ready to move on past it. Whether we get an apology or accountability, who knows? Who really cares at this point?’”
