‘No way’: Star shocks fans with Sydney pics - news.com.au

The Kid Laroi, aka Charlton Howard, has outed himself as being smack bang in the middle of Sydney’s busy CBD.

Laroi, 20, posted a TikTok of himself hanging outside Sydney’s flagship David Jones and it is a pretty bold move from such a famous face. Usually, celebrities like to keep their location on the down-low but not Laroi.

“Guess where I am?” He teased.

It is that time of year when everyone finds themselves trekking around shopping centres to do their local Christmas shopping, and they may have found themselves mingling with the rich and famous thanks to the star’s presence.

Laroi was looking low-key in a beanie and oversized shirt because all the cool young people now wear oversized everything.

He was also spotted dining at the iconic Sydney Italian restaurant Matteo.

His presence in Sydney soon made a whole lot more sense because he turned up at Post Malone’s Sydney show as a special guest, and the two performed the song Bleed.

Fans were pretty delighted by his appearance, with Laroi’s TikTok now flooded with fans thanking him for showing up or sharing their pain if they missed out.

“I wish I was there,” someone wrote.

“You were great,” another praised.

“No way,” one remarked.

Laroi is one of Australia’s biggest Gen Z success stories. He grew up in Sydney’s Waterloo before taking over the world as a teenager with his smash hit Without You, and has since released bangers like Stay and Thousand Miles.

He dropped his first album, appropriately titled The First Time, last week, which he claimed had been over two years in the making.

Laroi recently opened up to Billboard about the weird reality of becoming famous as a child.

“For me, I think I look at it as a big blessing. It’s also a bit of a curse. I signed my record deal with Columbia when I was 15 … at 15, you don’t know anything,” he said.

He went on to emphasise that while he was only a kid when he first became famous, it has only really hit him now.

“You’re like a literal child, even if you don’t understand that at the time. I’m about to be 20 this year, and I f**king look back at 15, and I feel like I was a literal child and a baby.”
