Prince Harry's latest brutal royal snub | news.com.au — Australia's leading news site - news.com.au

Prince Harry has faced yet another brutal snub — being cut out of a new royal documentary for the BBC.

The documentary, set to air over Christmas, will feature some key members of the royal family reflecting over the Queen’s death, as well as sharing their thoughts on King Charles’ first year on the throne.

Prince Harry was at Charles’ coronation earlier this year, however, while key scenes will be aired from the event, the doco has been edited so as not to include the Duke whatsoever, even in passing.

The documentary follows the build-up to the elaborate ceremony in May, and also shows the Archbishop of Canterbury forgetting his lines in a rehearsal.

“I have a memory that is probably about as good as our spaniel - in other words zero,” says Archbishop Justin Welby, about not knowing the words during one of numerous practice runs for the ceremony.

Despite having a tumultuous relationship with his father, Harry flew to London from his home in California to be at Westminster Abbey to see his dad crowned. Although his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children opted to stay at home in California.

While other royals will make an appearance in the doco, both in passing and to be interviewed, it will be Princess Royal, Anne, who takes centre stage.

Charles’ sister sheds light on their late mother the Queen’s final days before her death at Balmoral last year.

The Princess Royal, who remained close to the late Queen throughout her life, shared that the monarch was concerned about the logistics of dying outside of London and the hassle it could cause when it came to funeral arrangements.

“I think there was a moment when she felt that it would be more difficult if she died at Balmoral,” she said. “I think we did try to persuade her that shouldn’t be part of the decision-making process.”

Anne went on to share that she felt a sense of “relief” for the monarch after she eventually passed away and was laid to rest at St George’s Chapel after decades on the throne.

“I rather weirdly felt a sense of relief – that’s it, finished,” she said. “That responsibility being moved on.”

Anne also happened to be by the Queen’s bedside when she died, but revealed that it was solely by chance and not through planning. The royal had stopped over at Balmoral Castle after spending a few days on Scotland’s West Coast.

Elsewhere in the BBC doco, Princess Anne shares her thoughts on Queen Camilla, and says that she’s been “outstanding” in the way she’s embraced her new role and title alongside King Charles.

The 90-minute documentary, Charles III: The Coronation Year, will air on BBC One on Boxing Day.
