Nic Cage, 27yo wife, snapped in rare pics - NEWS.com.au

Actor Nicolas Cage has made a rare appearance with his 27-year-old wife, looking barely recognisable in a bizarre outfit.

Nicolas Cage was all business in rare photos of him and his much younger wife walking through New York’s JFK airport together.

The 57-year-old and his seldom-seen wife, Riko Shibata, 27, strolled through the airport hand-in-hand, just months after the actor was unceremoniously booted from a fancy Las Vegas restaurant in an alleged “drunken stupor”, The Sun reports.

The Ghost Rider star continued his tradition of unique outfits, wearing a hot pink shirt with fellow actor William Shatner’s face emblazoned across the front, under a black fur lined leather trench coat.

He paired the ensemble with black velvet trousers, boots and a black fedora hat. Not to mention carrying an additional hat in his right hand.

Nic has kept a low profile since he was filmed being kicked out of Lawry’s Prime Rib near the famous Las Vegas strip in September.

Exclusive video footage obtained by The Sun showed the Oscar winner being escorted out after getting into a drunken tiff with staff.

Eyewitnesses at first mistook the star – who won an Oscar for his portrayal of an alcoholic in Leaving Las Vegas – for a drunk homeless person.

They told The Sun that according to staff Nicolas had been drinking expensive whiskey and shots of tequila before becoming belligerent.

Wearing leopard pants and flip-flops, the actor was filmed sitting on a sofa while barefoot and struggling to get his sandals on before staggering around and shouting.

He was then blocked from apparently attempting to come back into the eatery by a woman believed to be a female member of staff in the incident on September 13.

A source, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Sun: “We were at that bar at Lawry’s when we noticed what we at first thought was a homeless man completely drunk and being rowdy.

“To our shock it turned to be Nicolas Cage. He was completely smashed and was getting into a bit of a fight with the staff.

“He was in a really bad state and was walking around shoeless. Staff told us he had been downing shots of tequila and 1980 Macallan whiskey.

“He was shouting at people and trying to get into fights and then staff asked him to leave.

“He was so drunk he could barely get his flip flops on before being escorted out.

“He asked us if we wanted to come back to his place but he was in a bad way so we didn’t think it was a good idea.

“One of the regulars ended up taking him home.”

Cage’s eventful year

In February this year Cage got married for the fifth time, to Riko Shibata, – who is 30 years his junior – in an intimate ceremony at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas.

The movie star’s latest nuptials comes less than two years after his famously disastrous four-day marriage to his fourth wife, Erika Koike.

Just a few months later, the Con Air star lost his mother, Joy Vogelsang.

The former modern dancer died on the night of May 26 after spending two weeks in hospital.

Mother-of-three Joy was reportedly plagued by schizophrenia and severe depression when Oscar-winning actor Nicolas, now 57, was a child.

She got divorced from the actor’s late university professor dad August Coppola in 1976, when the future National Treasure star was just 12.

But Nicolas credited her as the “driving force” behind his creativity.

Fallen crown

Then, in July, his next big role fell apart, when he pulled out of playing Tiger King’s Joe Exotic and Amazon cancelled a planned series.

Nicolas, 57, said he had decided to step down from the role after leaning Amazon Studios were getting cold feet.

At the time, he explained: “I read two excellent scripts, which I did think were excellent, but I think Amazon ultimately felt that it was material that had become past tense because it took so long for it to come together.

“They felt at one point that it was lightning in a bottle, but that point has since faded into the distance and it’s no longer relevant.”
