‘Burnt her a**’: Star sledges Ellen on TV - NEWS.com.au

This reality TV finale has ended with a rogue confession about a run-in with talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres. James Weir recaps.

Ellen DeGeneres joins the club of global celebrities getting trash-talked on Big Brother VIP in a finale revelation that proves this show is really just a more expensive version of that Burn Book from Mean Girls.

You’re nobody until you’ve been trash-talked on Big Brother VIP by someone less famous than you. Meghan Markle got dragged on a nightly basis by her weird half-brother Thomas during his time in the mansion. Kris Jenner also copped it from her ex Caitlyn. And it’s actually that sneaky dame Caitlyn who comes back to burn Ellen tonight in secret footage that producers have been waiting to unveil in one big final stunt.

Oh, someone also wins tonight. The three remaining celebrity contestants are that guy from Survivor, that hot guy from TikTok and that Ellie lady. A real nailbiter, huh?

The final trio run out onto the makeshift stage that’s set up on the front lawn of the Brother Brother house, waving and whooping and jumping around. The atmosphere is infectious. You can just feel the energy buzzing through the TV screen.

Admit it: You’re only here for the Ellen dirt. Well, Kruges is looking out for all of us. She knows this finale needs to be injected with a little pizzazz — so when producers tell her they’ve been sitting on some sneaky footage of Caitlyn Jenner slagging off Ellen, she grabs it with both hands and tells them to give the heads-up to that Survivor guy. She’ll take it from here.

“Now, I desperately need to hear some juicy celebrity gossip,” she prompts the trio.

Luke here’s his cue loud and clear.

“Caitlyn told me she didn’t like Ellen!” he blurts out. “Somehow, they started feuding on Twitter. They had a Twitter fight. And then she expected Ellen to apologise to her and Ellen didn’t.”

And then, like the pro she is, Kruges throws to the footage of the unseen moment, where Caitlyn is telling the other contestants about her experience on the comedian’s talk show.

“I did go on (the show), and then I blasted her a**,” she flicks her hair over a shoulder.

The other contestants listen intently. This conversation is the most glamorous thing that’ll ever happen to them. As Caitlyn recalls, everything was going swell during her 2015 appearance on the talk show. But then it rumbled downhill when Ellen asked her about gay marriage.

“Looking back on it, I could’ve handled a couple of things a little bit differently,” Caitlyn reflects on the answer she gave. “Because I didn’t think she’d respond the way she did. And then she goes to me, ‘Well it sounds like you’re really not for it (pro gay marriage). And I said, ‘No, I just said I’m for gay marriage’.

“The next week, she goes on Howard Stern’s radio show and says I was against gay marriage — and absolutely burnt my a**. And so, in the media, I got really tough on her.”

Caitlyn says she considered calling Kris and getting her to ban the kids from ever going on the talk show again, but then she decided that was a bit OTT. It was very level-headed of her. Better to hold onto the grudge and talk about it six years later on a weird Australian reality show.

Not to get all Elle Woods, but here’s the answer Caitlyn gave to Ellen during the interview in question.

“I’m a traditionalist. … I kinda like tradition and it’s always been a man and a woman,” she said, before adding her stance on gay marriage had evolved since transitioning. “As time has gone on, I think a lot of people on this issue have really changed their thinking here to, ‘I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.’ That’s not my job, okay? If that word — ‘marriage’ — is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.”

Either way, Kruges nails her slam dunk and proves yet again she’s the MVP.

And that’s probably where the night should end, yeah? There’s nothing that could beat an Ellen feud...

Well, not if Jessika Power has anything to say about it.

“My sugar daddy died,” Jessika reveals in more unseen footage. “He had a brain ammerision (sic). He lived in Europe though. He sent me, like, four grand, five grand a week. For a little while … a few months. I just had to talk to him. He was, like, a full-time job, though — it was so annoying.”

Well, hard work can be a drag.

It’s around now we all remember the purpose of tonight is to announce a winner. With no more celebrity revelations to expose, Kruges rips open the envelope and crowns former Survivor fave Luke Toki the king.

His big win means $110,000 will be donated to the cystic fibrosis unit at the Perth Children’s hospital. All that celebrity sledging was worth it.
