Antony correctly answered A: The Count of Monte Christo by Alexandre Dumas, which was published in 1844.

"I tried to put them in the order I thought, backwards," he told host Eddie McGuire, admitting he had no idea when The Count of Monte Christo was published. But he quickly eliminated War and Peace.

Originally Antony's million-dollar question was different. He was first asked:

How many Australian prime ministers have been members for electorates in Queensland?

A: 1
B: 2
C: 3
D: 4

For $1,000 he was given the option to swap out the question as one of his available lifelines, an opportunity he took that clearly paid off. He told Eddie he would have picked C: 3, which would have lost him the money he'd won.

"I know it's a cliché, but winning Millionaire Hot Seat has absolutely changed my life. I thought I'd be renting forever but now I've bought a beautiful apartment and even paid cash for it! Now I can stop worrying about the future for my husband, Ron, and me. I'm so grateful that the stars aligned on the day. So much had to go right for me to win, and it did. It's still hard to believe," said Antony, an LGBTQIA+ activist and a lover of the theatre and the arts.

"I'd like to thank Eddie McGuire and everyone at Nine who supported me and has been so lovely throughout this experience. I encourage everyone to give it a go and apply to be on the show. If it happened to me, it could happen to you too."

Antony had a dream run on Millionaire Hot Seat. His luck started when he won Fastest Finger First and earned $1,000 to keep up his sleeve for a potential lifeline.

He then answered five questions correctly to win the top prize on Australian television.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Millionaire Hot Seat have given away a whopping total of $87,098,000 over the past 21 years.

Auditions for 2022 are now open. Visit www.nine.com.au/hotseat to register for your chance to be the next contestant to win one million dollars.
