80s star explains onstage ‘meltdown’ - NEWS.com.au

Singer Tiffany has revealed what caused her to lash out at fans while singing her hit song in an emotional Instagram video, saying she is horrified.

Pop star Tiffany is apologising for cursing out fans during a trainwreck performance in Florida, saying she had a “panic attack” on stage and is “horrified” by her antics.

The New York Post reports the ‘80s singing sensation, 50, was filmed verbally abusing concertgoers partway through performing her 1987 smashI Think We’re Alone Now at a show in Melbourne, Florida.

“F**k you guys!” the former teen idol was heard yelling at the crowd. “This is my hit! I’m gonna sing it right!”

After the abuse, Tiffany launched into a chorus of the catchy tune, but her vocals were ear-splitting and off-key.

On Wednesday, the crooner took to Instagram to share a two-minute video explaining the reason for her onstage “meltdown,” saying she lost her voice and began to panic.

“I had no clue I had a vocal problem. I’m not sick. I got up there [on stage] and it just wasn’t there, and it literally freaked me out,” Tiffany stated.

“I panicked. It’s not often I lose my voice. I got up there and just absolutely had a panic attack. I had a meltdown.”

The ‘80s sensation went on to apologise to the fans who were subjected to her verbal spray.

“I want to say thank you to everybody who was at the show. I love you guys, and I’m sorry for any off-colour things that I said. It’s definitely not the norm for me,” she insisted.

Tiffany then turned teary as she thanked followers around the world who have expressed concern in the aftermath of the meltdown.

“I don’t want to get all cry-y … I’m vulnerable and I’m human. I just had no idea that my voice wasn’t gonna show up that day, until the very moment,” the singer said.

“I’ve just been horrified the last couple of days because I’ve just not been in that situation.”

Tiffany then proved she was still able to belt out her hit song, singing several lines of I Think We’re Alone Now for her fans.

Followers flooded the comments section beneath the video with messages of support.

Sunday’s concert was the last on her US Shadows tour.

The singer has performed more than a dozen shows across the country in the past month.
