Royal watchers pointed out a notable absence, her husband, Prince William, who did not appear in the announcement.
The video was recorded on March 20th, with Town & Country reporting that the Prince of Wales wasn't staying at Windsor Castle and that his wife wanted to share her news by herself.
Reports claim Kate preferred to be solo in the video and that she had written the message herself.
It is speculated he remained on the sidelines for this announcement to emphasise that the princess is a strong force in her own right.

During the announcement, the princess thanked her husband for his ongoing support during her recovery.
"Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance," Kate said.
"As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both."
Prince William, the Princess and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have yet to make a public appearance since the announcement video was released.
The family are currently recuperating in the privacy of their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk, they are also not expected to attend the annual Easter Sunday services in Windsor.

The type of cancer and what stage it has progressed to remained undisclosed, although the Princess of Wales did disclose that she is in "the early stages" of "preventive chemotherapy."
The royal couple released an official joint statement following the announcement and the outpour of public support.
"The prince and princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the U.K., across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness' message," the statement read.
"They are extremely moved by the public's warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time."
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said, "The Prince will continue to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since the start of the year."
