Hollywood actor Ron Harper has passed away at the age of 91.
The American star of TV series Planet Of The Apes and Land Of The Lost died of natural causes at his Los Angeles home on Thursday, Harper’s daughter told Hollywood Reporter.
Born in Pennsylvania on January 12, 1933, Harper was described as a straight-A student who went to Princeton University before turning down a chance to study at Harvard Law School to pursue a career in acting.

Harper’s acting dreams were put on pause while he served in the US Navy, before he landed a role as understudy for Paul Newman in the 1959 Broadway play Sweet Bird Of Youth.
His first TV role came in 1960 in Tales Of Wells Fargo.
The actor eventually scored the leading role of Colonel Alan Virdon in the 1974 Planet Of The Apes TV show, based on the movie starring Charlton Heston.
Harper went on to star in the 1976 hit children’s TV adventure series Land Of The Lost, which was adapted for the big screen in 2009.
He also appeared in TV drama series Where The Heart Is, The Tall Man and Laramie.
In 2001, Harper worked on the box office hit Pearl Harbor alongside Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett.
In his later years, Harper also starred in Glass Trap in 2005 and The Poughkeepsie Tapes in 2007.
Harper acted in more than 50 TV series and movies in a career that spanned five decades.
He is survived by his daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.
