'Trauma': Taylor blasts 'painful' rumour | news.com.au — Australia's leading news site - news.com.au

A rumour that has been circulating about Taylor Swift has caused the star “pain and trauma”, according to her right-hand woman and publicist in shocking social media post.

Tree Paine has been by Swift’s side since 2014 and helped guide her through some of her careers biggest moments.

Pain has lashed out in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, following claims made by gossip website Deuxmoi, which allege Swift unofficially tied the knot with her ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, while the pair were together for over half-a-decade.

“She did have a ceremony in either 2020 or 2012 in the UK and it was described as a ‘marriage’ by more than one person. It was NEVER made legal. Just because she doesn’t sing about something in a song doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!”

In response to the wild claims, Paine took to X to slam the allegations that Swift ever held a ceremony, and hit out at the “pain and trauma” such rumours cause the popstar.

“Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi,” wrote Paine.

“There was never a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like this.”

Fans of Swift rushed to comment, with many praising Paine for breaking her silence over the gossip posts.

“Thank you for shutting this down, queen!” replied one fan, while another said: “Exactly! And it’s NONE of our business. Thanks queen!”

Swift and Alwyn had a largely private relationship, shunning the spotlight and red carpet events ever since they met at the 2016 Met Gala.

The former couple broke up earlier this year with the news breaking in April. However, it’s unknown how long they had been apart before the announcement was made.

Despite not being together for months, and Swift striking up a new romance, her relationship with Alwyn was thrust back into the spotlight this week after she released her song “You’re Losing Me” on streaming platforms for the first time.

Fans had long speculated that the track was about Swift’s romance with Alwyn, and fuel was added to the fire when Swift’s co-writer, Jack Antonoff, revealed it was written in December 2021.

Lyrics to the heartbreaking song include: “And I wouldn’t marry me either, a pathological people pleaser … who only wanted you to see her”.

Meanwhile, Swift regularly faces bizarre rumours about her love life.

Former UFC star Paige VanZant is not buying the relationship between Swift and Travis Kelce, recently claiming it’s “100 per cent fake.”
