New Block ‘cheating’ scandal erupts - NEWS.com.au

Just one day after declaring peace, The Block teams are once again divided after one couple attempted to dodge the rules and score a freebie.

Controversial Block stars Tanya and Vito are once again in the bad books of their fellow competitors.

A week after Foremen Keith and Dan instructed all five teams to have their laundries installed, the couple tried to skirt the rules on Wednesday night and have their cabinets built past deadline.

It comes after the season’s explosive production schedule scandal meant cabinet installers from Kinsman could only build the laundries last week, despite it being living and dining room week.

At the time, Forman Dan had explained that due to the challenges needing to be switched around, living room week was the teams’ last chance to have their laundries built without having to pay. All teams bar Tanya and Vito had complied.

This week, the couple were caught sneaking the Kinsman workmen back to the Block site to have their laundry installed in accordance with the original schedule, still under the show’s the sponsorship deal.

“We’re very grateful to Kinsman who came back just for us and put all the laundry in … but don’t tell anyone else,” Tanya whispered to producers, later telling the camera how great it is that they “haven’t had to pay.”

Instantly suspicious to see the installers emerging from House 3, stickler for the rules (and Tanya’s former nemesis) Georgia wasn’t having it.

“I saw a couple of the Kinsman installers coming out of House 3,” she told producers.

“We were told (Kinsman) weren’t going to come back, which is why we had to hustle and get our laundries done last week,” she explained, before heading off to tell Keith.

“Why are they installing Tanya and Vito’s laundry? You told us to hustle to get our laundry done,” she demanded, sending Keith in to check out what was going on in House 3.

Agreeing that Tanya and Vito should need to foot the bill for the install, a flashback from last week saw Foreman Dan telling the contestants: “Schedule change has got us again. This was originally going to be hallway and laundry week, so Kinsman have booked all of their joiners in for this Friday. If you want Kinsman to install it, it has to be this Friday, if not you’ll have to install it at your own cost come laundry week.”

Chiming in on the new drama unfolding, Ronnie added to producers: “We had to share our win with these guys, but we finished off the laundry and they didn’t … So they had all that extra time to focus on the (living) room.

“What’s the point of having rules on The Block? … Here they are again, cheating,” he fumed, as his wife Georgia filled Mitch and Mark in on the news.

It comes just as tempers seemed to have simmered down on what has been one of the most scandalous seasons of the show to date.

Earlier this week, Tanya, Vito, Georgia and Ronnie even headed off on a joint getaway to celebrate their shared win, where they agreed to put their differences behind them.

Now, it looks like they’re right back where they started, with Thursday night’s episode hinting the couple will deny the new allegations.
