Reality star Jackie Gillies and Silverchair drummer Ben have today welcomed twin babies, as they announced the happy news on social media.
It’s been a long time coming for Jackie Gillies but the reality star has welcomed her first children after giving birth to twins.
The 41-year-old wife of Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies, also 41, announced the joyful news on Instagram today, sharing an adorable photo of their feet.
“They’re here. OMG they are so cute. My heart is full,” Jackie wrote.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne star neglected to reveal the babies names or genders, saying she would talk about it on Tuesday’s episode of her podcast, Shine It Up with Jackie Gillies.
Jackie has experienced a long and tumultuous journey to becoming a mother for the first time, revealing in May she had fallen pregnant with twins after multiple rounds of IVF.
Throughout her IVF process, which she began seven months after filming I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, Jackie has shared intimate moments with her fans, including a devastating miscarriage, as well as photos of her bloated stomach during the pre and post-egg retrieval.
Jackie, who works as a part-time psychic, is currently starring on the fifth season of RHOM, which airs Sundays at 8.30pm on Foxtel’s FOX Arena channel.
Speaking about her decision to return to the franchise, after bowing out for season 4, Jackie said she felt compelled to share her IVF journey.
“One of the biggest reasons I decided to come back for this season was because I felt that I needed to be open about IVF and my journey,” Jackie told Joel Creasey ahead of last Sunday’s first episode premiere.
“I’ve done so many psychic readings over the last 17 years where women have felt ashamed about doing IVF, and I felt that I needed to come back and open up that conversation and not allow it to be a stigma.
“A lot of women that have done IVF haven’t even told their parents or siblings because they’re ashamed of being judged or not being able to fall pregnant naturally.
“I know how it feels to go through IVF and those emotions, and I decided I needed to share everything including the miscarriage, and the ups and downs of IVF, because it’s not an easy journey.”
