The actor, who first found fame as the winner of The Bachelor in 2014 before going on to become The Bachelorette in 2015, revealed that she hasn’t taken the Covid-19 vaccine in an emotional video earlier this month.
She said that she had been made to feel like “less of a human” due to her unvaccinated status.
The backlash was swift and Frost deactivated her Instagram account soon after.
Frost reappeared on Instagram on Wednesday night with a message to her followers that “kindness always wins”.
“Thank you for the enormous amount of support and love over the past few weeks,” she posted.
She claimed she received “thousands and thousands” of messages of support since the drama, despite backlash from names including fellow Bachelor star Matt Agnew and the Bachelorette’s Abbie Chatfield, along with Studio 10 hosts Sarah Harris and Beau Ryan.
It forced a strong response from Channel 7, despite allowing Frost to continue to work on the Home And Away set.
Harris said that Frost had been living a privileged life during lockdown being able to still go to work and film Home And Away when many others were stuck at home.
In her new post, Frost thanked her friends, family and work colleagues who “held my hand through the storm” and “loved me unconditionally”.
Along with her message, she posted an image of herself with a new look, captioning the picture “freshhhh” alongside Home And Away’s makeup artist, Ella Jean.
Frost appeared in a post two days ago from her Instagram account, where she labelled Frost’s new look “a sneaky blonde refresh”.
Earlier, the 32-year-old, admitted she “could get into trouble” for revealing her stance on the vaccine, but pleaded for “compassion” and “empathy” for those who have made the same decision as her.
“I was really hesitant about doing a video or even speaking up about this sort of thing, but I feel like it’s getting to a point now in the world where there’s a lot of segregation, a lot of harsh judgment, and its taking its toll on my mental health,” Frost told her 577,000 followers on Instagram.
“There are a lot of different reasons people aren’t getting vaccinated – and it might be because of their medical history, their concerns they might have, they might have family history, it might be religious reasons, whatever.
“I want to tell those people that feel like they’re getting separated from society – well, I’m not vaccinated, and there’s a reason why I’m not, I’ve spoken to my doctor and my psychologist about it, and I’m going to keep it private.”
Meanwhile it is now illegal for unvaccinated residents in NSW to lie about their vaccination status, under a new order signed by the Health Minister overnight.
NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard signed a public health order yesterday which prevents a person from wrongfully claiming they are vaccinated against Covid-19. The public health order states: “A person must not provide, display or produce to another person information or evidence, including vaccination evidence, purporting to show the person is a fully vaccinated person, unless the information or evidence is true and accurate.”
It is not clear yet what penalties residents will face if they lie about their vaccination status or show fake proof vaccination. However, the current maximum penalty for breaching a public health order is $11,000 to six months in jail for an individual.
