Kylie ‘moving back to Australia’ - NEWS.com.au

After living in London for more than 30 years, Aussie singer Kylie Minogue has confirmed she’s set to relocate back to her home country.

Kylie Minogue will ditch London life and move back to Australia after the coronavirus pandemic “gave her a lot of time to think about the future.”

The Australian singer, 53, has spent the past nine months in her native country, and is now poised to treat it as “her base”.

Speaking to BBC on Wednesday, Kylie confirmed she recently made the call to move back to Melbourne, saying: “I spent a lot of time with my family this year in Australia and it felt really good.”

The Spinning Around singer also said she would divide her time between Australia and the UK.

Documents show Kylie, who was born in Melbourne but has lived in the UK since the early ‘90s, has changed her business address to one in Hawthorn, in the inner suburbs.

A source told the Mirror Online: “This is something she has been thinking about for a while.

The source added: “This year, when she was in Australia for an extended period due to travel restrictions, it gave her time to think about where she wants to be based.

“Like many artists she spends much of her life on the road or travelling so she doesn’t anticipate that this is a major change for her as she’s never in one place for a long time anyway.

“Covid has given her a lot of time to think about the future and she wants to see more of her family in the times when she isn’t travelling, and so she will use Australia as her base.”

Kylie’s decision to return to Australia, where her parents and siblings Dannii and Brendan are based, comes after she flew back to the UK in September to reunite with her boyfriend, Paul Solomons, whom she has been with since 2018.

The vocalist initially returned to Australia to dodge a strict UK lockdown in December last year.

Paparazzi pictures showed the star with her sister, The Masked Singer Australia judge Dannii, in February, which was the first time they’d been spotted together in six years as they enjoyed a shopping session at Crown Melbourne.

Solomons was unable to join her on her Australian trips due to travel restrictions and his high-powered job as creative director of GQ magazine.

But he has recently quit the role, which could give him the opportunity to travel more with the Spinning Around singer.

Meanwhile, Kylie’s UK base is a luxury development and her neighbours include fellow ex-Neighbours star Holly Valance and her billionaire hubby Nick Candy.
