Buckingham Palace has confirmed Princess Beatrice has married in a private ceremony with her grandmother Queen Elizabeth II in attendance.
Key points:
- Princess Beatrice married real estate entrepreneur Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday morning (local time)
- Beatrice is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson
- The couple originally planned to marry on May 29 at the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace
Beatrice married real estate entrepreneur Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday morning (local time) at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other close family members attended, adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.
Beatrice is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
In February, the palace originally announced Princess Beatrice and Mr Mozzi would marry on May 29 at the Chapel Royal of St James's Palace, but the coronavirus pandemic forced a change of plan.
The chapel was the location for the wedding of Beatrice’s great-great-great-great grandmother Queen Victoria to Prince Albert in 1840.
Beatrice's younger sister, Princess Eugenie, married wine merchant Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel in October 2018.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed in the same location in May of that year.
