Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been going through a rough patch the past few weeks, but discussion about their future together has been going on for months, a source has said.
"Kim is not leaving the relationship because of this current situation, but before this situation, over the last three months or so, they had been talking about divorce," the insider told Us Weekly about their relationship. "Kim has wanted to make this marriage work and so has Kanye. They both still love each other and there is still some interest in making this marriage work but in recent months it has looked way less likely."

The insider added that all of Kardashian's focus is on West's well-being and their four children: North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and Psalm, 14 months.
"There is no conversation about divorce until he's able to be in a better mental space," the source said.
The news comes a week after West, 43, broke down at his first presidential campaign rally in South Carolina, revealing private matters between him and his wife, 39, about abortion. Following the event, the rapper went on a Twitter rant, making multiple claims and comments about Kardashian, their kids and Kris Jenner. He also seemingly accused his wife of cheating with Meek Mill and claimed he had been "trying to divorce" her for two years.

West apologised to Kardashian via Twitter on Saturday, July 25 (US time).
"I would like to apologise to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter," he tweeted. "I did not cover her like she has covered me. To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me."
On July 22 (US time), the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star publicly addressed her husband's behaviour for the first time. In a statement posted to her Instagram Story, Kardashian confirmed that he has been suffering with bipolar disorder.
"Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor," the Skims designer wrote. "People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try."
