Excuse me women of Australia, did I miss something?
Apparently we all love Ciarran Stott, the “potty-mouthed, tatted-up, long-haired yahoo you wouldn’t want to bring home”.
I’m going to throw it out there that we actually adore Timm Hanly more, the loveable larrikin who’s also tatted-up with long hair, and is a barrel of laughs.
Both appeared on Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette and now they’re gracing our screens on Bachelor In Paradise, and boy, are we grateful for that, particularly when they have their shirts off.
But Timm was the one who won Australia’s hearts – and nearly Angie’s (boo!) – back then and we’re being reminded just why this season.

Timm is the guy Angie did take home. Sure, not all mums would be impressed when your boyfriend has longer hair than you. I know mine wasn’t when she met my ex-boyfriend, but they get over that.
And you can look past anything that might not be your aesthetic cup of tea when you look at Timm’s other attributes.
They’re why Brittany Hockley is falling for him this season. She admits Timm is far from her type, but most of all he makes her laugh, and isn’t that on everyone’s list of what we look for in a guy?
He’s been described as a golden retriever puppy. Fun and full of energy.
He’s the kind of guy who takes you stand-up paddleboarding for a date or makes a formal dinner not so stuffy by telling you he needs to pee.
Timm admits he might not be the smartest guy, but we know he makes up for it with banter.
He’s down-to-earth and isn’t afraid to make fun of himself. Remember that ridiculous red lobster outfit he was made to wear?
Timm was one of Angie’s trusted confidants and we know he’s going to tell it like it is.
With this guy, what you see is what you get. He’s not going to feed you lines.
Yes, he’s a s**t-stirrer – we saw that this week when he created even more drama at that “bula banquet” where exes Ciarran and Renee stormed off.
But not only was he willing to admit so and even leave the show, the next day he redeemed himself when he got everyone together for a barbecue to make amends.
Who doesn’t love a man who can apologise after a fight, admit when they’re wrong and even go to the effort of making up for it in some way?

He’s even Jamie’s (dubbed the stage five clinger) best friend and he’s undoubtedly the kind of boyfriend who would be your best friend too.
Admittedly, though he’s Jamie’s best friend, Jamie is not his, but he seems like the kind of guy who would be everyone’s best friends.
If we flick back to physical appearances, let’s take a look at what Abbey wrote yesterday.
She reckons we’re swooning over the likes of Harry Styles. Hmmm:
She said we’re not after perfect masculinity and I do agree, we’re not.
But I simply couldn’t date a guy who dressed better than me, spent longer doing their hair or more time in front of the mirror.
Then, I’ve never been able to “rock a roll neck jumper” so maybe I’m a little jealous.
Timm’s more a guy who can rock a flanno.
I’d say the only area Ciarran wins in is the fact he looks like he washes his hair a little more.
While you can’t change a guy, you can certainly leave shampoo in their shower.
