Britney Spears' former Crossroads co-star Taryn Manning is the latest celebrity to speak out in support for the #FreeBritney movement. She joins Modern Family's Ariel Winter who earlier this week called out Britney's father over his longstanding court-ordered control over his daughter.
Sharing a throwback snap from the 2002 film, the Orange Is the New Black actress took to Instagram to stand up for the 38-year-old singer who has been locked in a conservatorship ever since 2008.
"Such a wonderful time with this crew," reminisced Manning.
"Britney I know you're strong af [sic] and have your own brain and thought process. To me you look happy and like you're having a blast! Keep up the happy posts and your faith in Jesus Christ."
She continued, "How about let's give this wonderful woman the dignity she deserves and earned."
Referring to Jamie Spears' (Britney's father) iron grip on the 'Toxic' hitmaker's life, the TV star added, "Until you know the facts stop speculating and perpetuating the father of lies. We all know she's under a type of control that's unfair and things will be fixed. Have faith. Wish her well! Send good vibes of no fear! Please!"
Following her infamous 2007 head shaving incident and subsequent involuntary psychiatric evaluation, the singer's business, financial and personal life has been controlled by her father and more recently by her acting conservator Jodi Montgomery.

The #FreeBritney movement was started by fans in 2019 and calls for the star's conservatorship to be ended after it was reported that Britney was allegedly being held against her will for three months at a mental health facility. Read more about it here.
Fans have become increasingly concerned over Spears' mental health in light of her calls on Instagram for an end to bullying and "mean comments."
"There's no reason to ever go out of your way to make mean comments and bully people," she captioned one such post in December last year.
Earlier this month, a fan started a Change.org petition called "Britney Spears: right to her own lawyer". As of July 19, the petition had over 206,000 signatures.
