Tanya and Vito have backtracked after trying to pull the wool over Foreman Keith’s eyes, claiming innocence when confronted about their alleged “cheating”.
Controversial Block stars Tanya and Vito have been slapped with a huge bill after trying to sneak through a freebie right under Foreman Keith’s nose.
The couple were seen backtracking in Thursday’s episode after whispering to producers that they had snagged a free laundry install from Kinsman despite missing last week’s deadline.
It was nemesis Georgia who caught on to the crafty act after noticing Kinsman installers leaving their Block site, ratting them out to Foreman Keith to ensure they were charged.
In a cruel twist for the rule-bending pair, the laundry invoice they’d tried to dodge has left them in a dire financial situation.
On Wednesday night, Tanya had bragged about the installers returning to the site “just for us”, after the remaining teams had rushed to get their laundries done during living and dining week.
She thanked Kinsman while telling producers how great it was that they “haven’t had to pay”.
“I had planned to pay for install … I totally get that that wouldn’t be fair,” Tanya was heard telling Keith the following day.
Digging the knife in for the other teams, living and dining week marked Tanya and Vito’s first win — with Scott Cam musing that had they installed their laundry like everybody else, it might’ve been a different story.
“Why didn’t you do it like I told you to? You were the only house that didn’t do it last week,” he asked during his walk-through, to which Tanya responded that they “didn’t have enough time.”
Shelley Craft — who has clashed with the couple before — chimed in that everyone else managed to get theirs done and still deliver a completed living and dining room.
“Now you’ve been slumped with an invoice that’s gonna come out of your budget,” she pointed out, with Scotty adding: “If you had have done laundry week, would you have won? That’s what the others have said.”
The whole reason challenges were switched around to begin with was due to the production schedule scandal, and Tanya and Vito’s involvement.
“If I wasn’t there would anyone know about this?,” Georgia questioned of the team’s latest attempt to “cheat”, as her husband accused them of “trying to pull a swiftie”.
“Swiftie” or not, as Scott Cam pointed out, with the laundry bill and other unpaid invoices, Tanya and Vito are left with only a few hundred dollars in their budget and plenty of work to finish.
