The Oscar-winning actor has appeared in a new sketch called George Clooney: World’s Worst Pandemic Roommate, to promote a charity competition where the winner will be flown to Italy for a long lunch with Clooney and his wife Amal at their luxury Lake Como pad.
The advert shows Clooney living with a total stranger during the pandemic after the stay-at-home lockdown orders were imposed while the actor was at his house to pick up a Batman action figure he found on Craigslist.
Some may like the idea of being roommates with George Clooney, but as it turns out he’s the world’s worst. As his quarantine pal Byron bluntly explains: “Do I recommend hanging out with George Clooney? No I do not.”

The Up In The Air actor’s bedroom is a shrine to Brad Pitt – with countless posters on the wall, a cushion with Pitt’s face on and several cardboard cut-outs of the actor.
His ‘roommate’ Byron is not impressed with Clooney’s company saying: “At first I told myself not to worry, celebrities are just people too, but I guess I forgot how strange people could be.”
Clooney turns the bathroom into his personal dressing room, chooses Ocean’s Eleven for movie night every week, interrupts his ‘roommate’ during job interviews and pays his rent with signed headshots of himself.
The video ends with Clooney encouraging people to enter the competition if they want to have “even half as much fun” as he did quarantining with Byron.
The money spent on entering will be donated straight to the Clooney Foundation for Justice which advocates for justice through accountability for human rights abuses around the world.
The winner will be flown out to Lake Como, Italy and put up in a four-star hotel before being taken to the Clooneys’ house for lunch.
The actor is also celebrating his 60th birthday today – which he seems less than thrilled about. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, he shared his thoughts on the milestone birthday.
“As far as turning 60, listen, I’m not thrilled with it but it’s better than dead. So I’ll take it. I got two options.”
