The Veronicas’ public war of words with reality series Celebrity Apprentice continues today, with the musical duo – aka twin sisters Jess and Lisa Origliasso – slamming the show’s British billionaire boss Lord Alan Sugar in a fiery radio interview this morning.
The sisters have made headlines this week for repeatedly criticising the show, fuming over their drama-filled portrayal and insisting they were promised the reality series would focus on “heart” rather than fighting.
Speaking on air with Fifi, Fev & Nick this morning, the sisters said they only agreed to appear on the program “to show the heart of who we are, and unfortunately that hasn’t been shown”.
“We had a great time on the show, but the reason we were there has been lost thus far, and we want people to know that we’re not happy about it,” they said.
Message received, ladies.
The radio hosts offered the sisters the opportunity to “take shots” at Celebrity Apprentice’s boardroom boss, British billionaire Lord Alan Sugar, noting that he was meant to be interviewed on their show yesterday but never called in.
Jess said her sister had been “wanting to spill the tea” about Lord Sugar, before speaking up and doing it for her.
“What I would have to say would be so shocking, I’m really not sure if I should,” she teased. “The lack of respect as a general human being … him not turning up to your [interview] doesn’t surprise us, put it that way. It’s not really surprising behaviour.
“What we respect in people that have money, status, power is essentially that it’s a privileged position. With that privileged position should come a certain amount of grace and humble attitude. It’s disappointing when that’s not displayed by someone that’s in such a hugely privileged position,” Jess continued.
“As far as the show goes, we’re all there, we’re all giving our time, doing our best, these are our jobs. Having some decency and respect for people in that position – enough to maybe learn their names – is the bare minimum. But bare minimum of respect doesn’t seem to exist when you’re that big of a billionaire.
“We were raised with manners. I know he’s a hustler, he came from nothing, you just expect more grace than we experienced,” she continued.
“Or than I watched anyone experience with him,” added Lisa. “I think Jessie said it perfectly.”

The sisters are among 15 local celebrities competing this season, all playing to win cash for their chosen charities. For The Veronicas, it’s personal: They chose the charity The Brain Foundation because their beloved mother has a rare neurological condition called progressive supranuclear palsy.
The sisters previously asked their fans to “use common sense” when watching the show, after its debut episode appeared to show a fiery argument between them.
And it seems there’s more drama to come: In a preview clip released teasing an upcoming episode, a tearful Jess is shown saying of her fellow competitors: “Why would I ever want any of those people as friends?”
Elsewhere in the preview, contestant and Block judge Shaynna Blaze gives her verdict on the sisters: “The Veronicas. They may be five foot tall, but god, they are frightening.”
The Veronicas’ new album Godzilla is released today.
