Kyle Sandilands fumes after Kylie Minogue misses interview slot - NEWS.com.au

Even Kylie Minogue isn’t safe from the wrath of Kyle Sandilands, who exploded on air this morning when the pop princess missed her interview timeslot.

Minogue, 52, went on to issue a heartfelt apology to the KIIS FM hosts after failing to answer their call.

Off the back of the release of her new album, Disco, the pop icon was scheduled for a phone interview with Kyle and Jackie “O” Henderson at 6.10am, but failed to pick up the phone, sending Kyle into a furious spin.

“Where is Kylie Minogue, is what I’m asking. How many times do I have to ask?” the 49-year-old shock jock demanded.

Turning to producer Jaimee ‘Mayo’ Hassos, Kyle went on: “Where is the publicist from? What company? Mushroom Records?

“Ring her up and say, ‘Where is she?” he spat, to which Mayo reminded him Kylie could be listening.

“I don’t give a sh*t who’s listening!” Kyle said.

“Do you know how many people are listening waiting to hear Kylie? Get her on!” he replied.

Deciding to cancel the interview altogether, Kyle fumed: “We asked for later, and (Kylie’s manager) said, ‘Impossible to be later.’ Now (she’s) not here. You give us a ring back when you’re ready. God’s sake man. Everything’s cancelled!”

Kylie eventually called up herself to apologise for her absence, admitting she had simply pencilled in the wrong time by accident.

“I’m so sorry, total user error on my part this morning,” the singer said in a voicemail message played to the audience.

“I thought I was hooking up with you guys at quarter past the hour but it was actually 10 past. I was late, so I missed you on your wild morning show,” she continued.

“So, huge apologies, I hope to chat with you again soon.”

The former Neighbours star released her 15th record last Friday, titled Disco.

Speaking to Stellar recently, she revealed she recorded some of the album in a makeshift studio in her London home.

“(I used) wardrobe rails and duvets to try to get the sound as good as possible,” she said.

“It wasn’t without its technology hiccups. I did feel pretty worn down after however many weeks of that and I’d be ready to burst into tears. I’m proud of what we were able to achieve, but it did get the better of me at some points. And I needed to let that out – to let myself have those emotions.”

If Disco enters the UK chart at number one, Minogue will become the first solo female artist to have an album top the British chart in each of five consecutive decades, dating back to her album Kylie in 1988.
