Rumours are rife that Zac Efron is single again.
The Hollywood star, 33, who has been based in Australia for much of this year, has this week been at the centre of whispers there’s trouble in paradise with his Byron Bay girlfriend Vanessa Valladares.
In a confusing twist, it all comes shortly after reports emerged the pair were engaged.

With Efron in South Australia filming Stan original Gold, and 25-year-old model Valladares still in Byron, both The Sun and Woman’s Day have quoted sources stating they’re struggling with the distance.
They also claim the couple’s plans to buy a house and move in together have fizzled.
“Zac and Vanessa looked like the real deal. They were besotted with each other,” a source reportedly told The Sun this week.
“Zac has been renting a place by the beach in Byron Bay and by September, Vanessa was living with him there.
“So once he decided to stay in Australia long term, he suggested they buy their first home.
“They’d started to look at a few places but, sadly, fate wasn’t on their side.”
The source went on to say that with Efron in South Australia working on his upcoming film, they decided to call it quits – despite South Australian borders now being open to NSW (with travel warnings) and the state out of strict lockdown.

“Zac’s work and the enforced distance has really taken its toll,” the source added.
“Friends hope they can reunite, but it seems their relationship was more like a holiday romance than they cared to admit.”
According to an insider quoted in Woman’s Day, Efron has seemingly beenenjoying his solo time in Adelaide and rarely mentions Vanessa.
“Filming a local production is probably needed to support his visa, so there’s no backing out for Zac. He’ll be here in Adelaide for a while,” they said, according to the publication.
“He doesn’t mention his girlfriend much and seems keen to hang out with the locals.
“Zac’s a nice guy and a seasoned flirt. If I were Vanessa, I wouldn’t be thrilled about him being in another state,” they added.
Earlier this week, Valladares was spotted shopping solo in her hometown, while Efron has been sighted around town in Adelaide mingling at local bars.
Efron and Valladares’ courtship was the stuff of on-screen romance, having reportedly met while Valladares was a waitress at the Byron Bay General Store & Cafe earlier this year, after being introduced through her boss.
It prompted an explosion of interest in the genetically-blessed pair, who first went public in September.
Adding to the confusion surrounding their current relationship status, whispers emerged in October that they were actually engaged.
According – again to gossip mag Woman’s Day – the actor gifted his girlfriend a custom-made ring during his star-studded 33rd birthday bash, which Vanessa organised.
“He gave it to her after the party – it was incredibly romantic. Neither of them are saying much about it, but there’s no doubt it was some kind of unofficial engagement,” a source said.
