Netflix just announced Emily in Paris season two in the best way - NEWS.com.au

In news that should come as no surprise, Netflix has confirmed that hit series Emily In Paris will return for a second season.

Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City, Younger), the so-bad-it’s-good first series followed the adventures of Emily (Lily Collins), a young social media manager who moves from Chicago to Paris to work at a luxury marketing company.

She barely speaks the language, but she has a lot of berets, and manages to save the day in every single episode despite all her new colleagues absolutely loathing her. Along the way, virtually every French man Emily encounters falls head over heels in lust with her.

It is – how you say? – clichéd, unrealistic and frequently flat-out dumb. I watched all 10 episodes in two days.

Netflix made the announcement via a fictional memo, sent from Emily’s Miranda Priestley-esque French boss Sylvie (played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) to Emily’s employer back in the US, explaining that they’ll need to keep her on a bit longer:

“Despite her overconfident manner and lack of prior experience in luxury goods marketing, she has nonetheless managed to charm some of our hard-to-impress clients during her short time at Savoir,” the note reads.

“Call it Bonne chance, or American ingenuity – I’m leaning towards the former – her results are impressive. We love having Emily in Paris! But please don’t let her know that.”

And the Emily in Paris titbits just keep coming today: Netflix has issued a “friendly reminder” that we’ve all actually been pronouncing the show’s title wrong these past few months as we debate whether it’s brilliant, terrible, or both.
