Congratulations are in order for Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge!
The model gave birth to a baby girl on Monday, welcoming the couple’s first child — and Lionel Richie’s second granddaughter.
“Eloise Samantha Grainge 5•20•24 best day of my life,” Richie wrote on Instagram Friday alongside a black-and-white photo of the little one’s feet.
Sofia, 25, and the music executive, 30, initially kept her pregnancy news under wraps in order to “protect [their] mental health and [their] space,” she told Vogue in January.
The fashion designer called pregnancy a “scary” experience, noting that she “didn’t realise there are so many milestones you have to hit and so many tests you have to take.”
While debuting her baby bump at the time, Sofia also shared the sex of her upcoming arrival.
She and Grainge “both really thought it was a boy,” so finding out they had a girl on the way “was a true shock.”
The then-expectant star gushed, “My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl, too.”
Her “thrilled” dad, who refuses to be called “grandpa,” told Entertainment Tonight that he was “over the moon” to see his “baby having a baby.”
Lionel, 74, similarly expressed his excitement when he walked his youngest daughter down the aisle in April 2023.
Prior to the France nuptials, the “American Idol” judge confessed to Access that Grainge was a “nervous wreck” asking for his blessing before proposing to Sofia in April 2022 after one year of dating.

“I thought he was going to pass out, but he survived it,” Lionel recalled. “They’re deeply in love, so all I can say is, that’s what you really want as a dad.”
Lionel is also grandfather to his daughter Nicole Richies’s two children, Harlow and Sparrow, whom she shares with husband Joel Madden.
