Chris Hemsworth has posted a tongue-in-cheek clip showing what he would look like if he had terrible teeth, and it’s told us all a brutal truth about the super-rich.
The Hollywood actor has become known for his picture-perfect smile, but to play Dr Dementus in Mad Max Furiosa, his perfectly straight chompers were replaced with crooked fangs.
It wasn’t a huge change.
“Nope, still handsome, but nice try,” one fan joked.
Chris still looks hot, but he does look less hot, which proves that half the trick to being insanely good-looking is having the funds to make it happen.
Thanks to some less-than-average teeth, Chris went from looking like a movie star to looking like the kind of average bloke you’d see drinking an energy drink at a train station.
The theory that money buys looks has been floating around forever online; in 2020, someone went viral for tweeting that they’d spent the day thinking about how much better looking they’d be if they were loaded.
“Just been thinking about how much finer I’d be if I were rich,” the person wrote.
There’s also a popular trend of people online quoting, “you’re not ugly. You are just poor,” and then sharing a before and after shot of some famous celebrity.
We’ve seen this theory a million times over: someone becomes famous, and they go from being attractive to looking shockingly good.
It isn’t because they’ve had cosmetic work done, but because they have the money to pour into their looks.
Some celebrities legitimately employ teams of people whose main objective is to keep them looking gorgeous.
Even if you’re a low-maintenance famous person who doesn’t need someone constantly holding a blow-dryer on standby; if you’re rich, you can afford regular tweaks which enhance your looks.
Simple but costly things like getting teeth whitened or buying clothes that actually fit well can suddenly transform someone from looking like your standard attractive person to being traffic-stopping gorgeous.
Of course, the current cost-of-living crisis makes this even clearer.
Most of us are having to live with the difference between box-dying our hair and getting it professionally done.
Hint: When you box dye your hair, it often washes you out because it’s like you’ve thrown a bucket of one plain colour on your head.
Meanwhile, when you go to the hairdressers, you can get your hair to actually compliment your features and colouring.

But considering there’s about a $300 difference between the choices, what is a little bit of washed-outness between friends – if it means protecting your bank account?
The only people left who can invest in their looks are influencers and celebrities, who are definitely not skipping getting their eyebrows done even with the cost of coffee surging.
It is pretty clear that some lacklustre teeth won’t turn Chris from a prince to a frog, but having money is part of the secret to being hot.
