Australian billionaire James Packer, or as I like to think of him, Mariah Carey’s ex-boyfriend, was spotted leaving a London hotel looking rich person casual.
Packer, 56, was wearing a man’s official uniform when he is told to dress up a bit nice for a meal at the bowling club.
He wore loose-fitting jeans, a navy jumper, and some sensible walking shoes. Yes, he’s a billionaire probably on his way to somewhere very fancy, but he is also dressed in what someone’s dad would wear to attend the local meat raffle.
The footwear was a standout moment because Packer very sensibly chose arch support over aesthetics.
Instead of rocking some Gucci shoes, which super-rich men tend to choose as standard attire, he went for a pair of shoes that your mum definitely would have tried to make you wear in high school after a podiatrist diagnosed you with flat feet.
The look was a vibe; only truly rich people get to prance around looking that casual because they don’t feel any pressure whatsoever to impress anyone.
He might have looked low-key, but he was getting into a chauffeur-driven Range Rover and hanging out with Water Polo star Martin Pepa.
He was being quite ritzy in Europe.
Packer is pretty private, but in February this year, he gave a revealing interview to The Nightly in which he shared that he was debt-free and thriving.
He said he felt much more “relaxed” these days but revealed why he planned to spend more time in London.
Mr Packer said that his second ex-wife, Erica Baxter, and their three children, Indigo, 14, Jackson, 13, and Emmanuelle, 10, reside in the UK.
“I’m not as good as a father as I should be. I don’t spend as much time with my kids as I should,” he said.
He explained that despite separating from Erica in 2013 and breaking up with his former wife, fashion designer Jodhi Meares, in 2002 after a two-year marriage, it was a great “source of real happiness” that he’d remained close with both of them.

“I’m very, very lucky that I’ve been married twice, and I’m exceptionally close to Erica and Jodhi,” he told the publication.
Packer also went one step further and revealed he was seeing someone new and was feeling positive about the idea of falling in love again.
“I hope so,” he said.
