Billie Eilish and her manager have fuelled the long-running rumours that they’re engaged in a feud with Taylor Swift.
Rumours of the feud first began at the start of the year when Eilish spoke about the environmental ramifications of excessive vinyl variants, which artists put out to boost their sales.
Many fans took the remarks as a jab at Swift, who is known for releasing numerous variants of her records for fans to collect. Eilish was later forced to confirm as much in an April Instagram Story, telling fans that she wasn’t “singling anyone out”.
However, Eilish and her manager have now made a series of remarks this week that have once again appeared to directly single out Swift.
On Thursday, Eilish took to a live stream and shared her thoughts on so-called “psychotic” three-hour concerts.
“I’m not doing a three-hour show, that’s literally psychotic,” Eilish said during a fan discussion on the Stationhead app. “Nobody wants that. You guys don’t want that. I don’t want that. I don’t even want that as a fan. My favourite artist in the world, I’m not trying to hear them for three hours.”
Swift’s critically acclaimed Eras Tour hit headlines for its length, coming in at a little over three hours, something Eilish is no doubt aware of.
“IDK the eras tour seems to be doing pretty well for what apparently ‘nobody wants,’” one TikTok user commented on a post about the drama, while another remarked: “This feels like such a low blow.”
Eilish is currently locked in a chart battle with Swift in America, where she’s fighting it out for the number one spot on the Billboard charts, but is losing to Swift’s record which is expected to remain on top for a fifth week.
The chart duel has sparked a fan war on social media — one which Eilish’s manager Danny Ruskin allegedly weighed in on after appearing to retweet a derogatory post aimed at Swift.
Screenshots appeared to show Ruskin retweeting a post that read: “Taylor Swift breaking her neck to doing everything to prevent other artists from shining”.
It wouldn’t be the first time that the manager had made his feelings about Swift clear. Back in 2014, Ruskin also tweeted about Swift at the Grammys directly, saying: “Sit down Taylor Swift. It’s not about you and you don’t know this song,”.
Some fans have questioned whether the topic of Swift’s new record has added fuel to the fire, and rubbed Eilish the wrong way.
A recently resurfaced video of the 22-year-old from last year showed the star gushing about her love for Matty Healy, who Swift infamously had a short-lived romance with last year before allegedly singing about him on The Tortured Poets Depeartment.
“I just met Matty Healy outside. His show was the first show I ever went to in my life. He changed so much of who I am and how I write music,” said Eilish at the time.

Meanwhile, Swift sparked backlash from Elish’s fans after she released several new digital variants of her album The Tortured Poets Department this week in which some have taken as a marked effort to block the 22-year-old’s album from reaching number one.
Many fans took Swift’s move as confirming the pair’s feud.
“This is messy as hell,” tweeted one fan, while another said: “Taylor knows exactly what she’s doing by releasing these”.
