King Charles was visibly irritated about tardiness as he travelled to Westminster Abbey for his historic coronation, a professional lip reader has claimed.
Cameras captured the monarch and Queen Camilla sitting awkwardly in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach on Saturday morning, waiting to get the all-clear to enter the Abbey so the ceremony could begin.
Prince William and Princess Kate were supposed to be seated before Their Majesties arrived, according to the order of service released by Buckingham Palace.
However, it has been claimed the couple arrived after the King and Queen and were forced to join the procession behind them, instead of entering the church first.
A professional lip reader told the Daily Mail the King vented his frustration over tardiness saying “we can never be on time.”
“We can never be on time. Yes, I’m … this is a negative. There’s always something,”the lip reader claims the King said.
William and Kate posted a behind-the-scenes video featuring clips of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all dressed up at Kensington Palace before the coronation.
The clip shows the eight-year-old princess pointing excitedly at the royal chauffeurs who had arrived to escort the family to their horse-drawn carriage.
Charlotte looked angelic at the coronation and in the clip, wearing a Alexander McQueen ivory silk crepe dress and cape, with a headpiece featuring an ornate silver bullion crystal and silver thread work.
Louis - who entertained royal fans by fidgeting and letting out a big yawn during the ceremony –also features in the one-minute video, pointing with anticipation at the taxis as he exited the palace.
The five-year-old prince wore a navy Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic, paired with black pants with Garter Blue Stripe.
It was not the youngster's first time riding in a carriage during a royal procession, with Louis having waved to crowds during the Trooping of the Colour at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June.
