Celebrity chef Jock Zonfrillo was farewelled by close family and friends at a private funeral on Saturday morning.
The 46-year-old's widow Lauren Fried who shares children, Alfie, six, and Isla, two, with Zonfrillo led a group of mourners into a small Sydney church.
The casket was slowly carried into the chapel by Ms Fried and five men while a Scottish marcher played the bagpipes.
The former MasterChef judge's coffin was covered with white roses and orchids and draped in a Royal Banner of Scotland to acknowledge his heritage.
Photos taken by the Daily Telegraph showed many of Australia's celebrity chefs attended the small gathering including MasterChef co-stars Melissa Leong, Andy Allen and his pregnant wife Alex Davey, also former judge George Colombaris.
MasterChef star Manu Feidel, chef Miguel Maestre and Australian rockstar Jimmy Barnes were also at the service which was filled with celebrity chefs and stars.
Former Australians of the Year Grace Tame and Dylan Alcott were also invited to pay their respects.
There was no wake after the service which was tightly restricted to invited guests only.
"The family just wants it to happen without any of the attention which his death has attracted, which has understandably been overwhelming," an unnamed guest told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"They're trying to keep it as personal as they can, it's critical they be given that space to do that."
Zonfrillo was found dead in a Melbourne hotel last month, after police attended the address for a welfare check at about 2am.
He had flown to the Italian city of Rome weeks earlier with his wife and their two children, Alfie and Isla, for a much-needed getaway after he wrapped season 15 of the popular Network Ten cooking show.
Zonfrillo last week returned back to Australia alone where he had media interviews scheduled to promote the program ahead of the premiere on Monday.
However, the family confirmed in a statement about five hours before the first episode the 46-year-old had suddenly died in his home state.
Following the death there was an outpouring of support from his former colleagues and MasterChef fans.
"You've become such an inspirational and important part of our lives," MasterChef co-host Andy Allen wrote.
"Sure, you've taught me so much about food, but it's the lessons I learnt about what it means to be a great father, husband and friend that I'll take away from our time together and will last forever."
Fellow co-star Leong also detailed Zonfrillo's outstanding "impact" on her life.
"I could never have guessed how much of an impact your arrival in my life would have, or that we would be saying goodbye to you so soon. You were always supposed to be the bulletproof one who outlived us all," her Monday night social media post said.
"In that time, you showed me what true excellence looks like both in the kitchen and outside of it; your kindness and generosity, the many lives you've lived, the way you carried far more on your shoulders than most could ever know."
