Celebrity chef Jock Zonfrillo’s eldest daughter has broken her silence on her dad’s death in a heartbreaking tribute.

Ava Zonfrillo shared a poignant memory of her dad three weeks after his passing on Sunday.

“Still can’t accept that we’ll be remembering you for more time than we had you, but doesn’t mean we’ll love you any less,” the 22-year-old posted on Instagram.

“I love you Dad, always.”

The post was accompanied by eight photos and two videos of Zonfrillo, some of them featuring the father and daughter together.

One of the videos is a short loop of Zonfrillo blowing a big, exaggerated kiss to the camera.

Ava, who is the daughter of Zonfrillo and his first wife Amanda Ewing, initially followed her dad into the culinary world by working in hospitality public relations. She now works in the fashion industry.

She has lived in Sydney’s Bondi Beach since 2021.

Her tribute comes one week after Zonfrillo was laid to rest in a private funeral in Sydney surrounded by 200 family and friends.

A host of celebrities attended the service, with Jimmy Barnes and his daughter Mahalia singing a stirring rendition of Amazing Grace at the conclusion of the emotional ceremony.

The 46-year-old MasterChef star was found dead in his hotel room in Melbourne on April 30, the day before the new series of the hit show was due to go air.

He had recently returned to Australia from Italy after moving to Rome with his wife Lauren and their children Alfie, 5, and Isla, 2.
