The Kid Laroi, has finally confirmed that he is dating Canadian pop singer Tate McRae, who gave us the viral banger Greedy.

Now their new romance is public knowledge; fans are already speculating she’s his latest muse.

In true Gen Z artist fashion, he has been teasing snippets of his new song, Girls, online, and fans reckon he is taking a pretty unsubtle aim at his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. 

“F**k your ex man, I’m the man now. Think I feel bad, he was fanned out. Do what you like, you’ve been too nice. He didn’t do right, that’s too bad now,” he croons. 

He even posted a TikTok of himself vibing to his new song, wearing a jumper with his girlfriend’s face on. 

“No way Cole Sillinger got dissed,” one fan claimed. 

“This man is slowly turning into Justin Bieber,” another wrote. 

“That hockey player will never know peace,” one joked. 

“No, because this is so hot of him. Are you kidding me?” another shared. 

So what is going on? Buckle up. 

McRae previously dated hockey player Cole Sillinger. He’d sweetly said in an interview that she was his celebrity crush, and the pair dated from 2021 before parting ways sometime in 2023.

Neither ever commented on the break-up, but there were rumours that he cheated and McRae wiped all signs of him from her social media.

Sillinger denied that theory when he replied to an Instagram post claiming he did the dirty on McRae and said, “all false, my guy”.

Fans now reckon Charlton is being messy online and calling him out in his new song.

So far, this is working for him; the song has been dubbed the “song of the summer” by fans, and plenty of people are resharing it on TikTok and discussing McRae’s ex-boyfriend.

Charlton and McRae have been spotted hanging out for a while now, and fans have been speculating that they’ve been together since January 2024.

Charlton made it official at his Dublin concert in April when he referred to the singer as his girlfriend.

One crafty fan then managed to get a video of McRae hanging out from the side of the stage, giggling at her boyfriend’s antics.

“If you guys don’t sing this really loud. It’s going to embarrass me,” he added.
