Fans were taken aback over the weekend when Reese Witherspoon revealed she ate snow she scraped off of her vehicle.
“Snow days were made for Chococinnos,” the Legally Blonde star captioned a video posted on TikTok.
Witherspoon gave her followers a step-by-step tutorial of how to prepare the DIY snowy dessert, first showing a video of her shoveling snow into two pink-and-white-striped mugs.
“So we got a ton of snow over the past few days. We decided to make a recipe,” the Morning Show star said in a voiceover.
“So first we scooped the snow into cups, and we added salted caramel syrup, and some chocolate syrup. And then we decided to add some cold brew.”
While Witherspoon, 47, appeared in bliss as she tasted the snowy concoction, fans took to social media to call her out for eating “dirty” and “gross” snow.
“The way she’s just eating pollution slush puppies lmao,” one user tweeted.
Another wrote, “She’s cute but this doesn’t seem very clean. A bird could have pooped in the ice pile.”
“Does she not know how much bacteria is in snow,” a third added, while another user called the recipe “trifling.”
Despite the concerns and critical reviews, other fans stood by “Big Little Lies” star’s home recipe. “Fallen snow can be very dirty from the air and wind but who cares. You only live once. I remember eating snow as a kid,” one user commented via TikTok.
“we live above the mitten,” another fan wrote. “We still survive after eating snow and raw cookie dough️ live your best life!”
Witherspoon noticed the backlash and responded with another TikTok video.
“We’re kind of in the category of ‘you only live once’ and it snows maybe once a year here. I don’t know!” the actress said as she laughed.
“Also, I want to say something … It was delicious! It was so good.”
After a fan requested Witherspoon put snow “in a clear cup” and “let it melt,” she posted a third TikTok video doing exactly that.
“There [are] so many people on here saying that snow is dirty,” she began.
“So we went and took snow from the backyard and we microwaved it and it’s clear.”
As she held up a glass jar of what appeared to be clear water, Witherspoon added, “Is this bad? Am I not supposed to eat snow?”
Witherspoon — who shares two adult children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe — has come a long way since first learning the ropes of TikTok with her son Deacon.
In 2019, the A-lister had her now 20-year-old son shaking his head as she asked him to teach her how to make dance videos on the popular platform.
At one point as she practised her moves, the now-New York University student even admitted that his mother looked “pretty cool.”
He eventually called the dancing “so embarrassing” as he signalled for the person holding the camera to stop recording.
Witherspoon also shares daughter Ava, 24, with Phillippe, 49, as well as 11-year-old son, Tennessee, with ex-husband Jim Toth.
Deacon has had his own troubles when it comes to social media, though.
The aspiring musician was heavily criticised recently when he was featured on a popular social media page that tours pricey New York City homes.

However, other users praised Deacon for being so “laid back” and commended him for having roommates despite his wealthy parents.
“[He’s] not a regular college student … he can get any apartment he wants,” one person wrote, adding, “Even so he got roommates he looks chill.”
