British star’s cringe Margot confession - news.com.au

One of the stars of iconic British reality show Made in Chelsea has opened up about his secret crush on Margot Robbie, admitting he used to slide into her DMs – but was persistently ignored.

Tristan Phipps, who, along with the rest of the cast, just wrapped up a six-week stint filming the series in Sydney, spilled the beans on his unrequited crush to news.com.au.

“She’s forever been my number one crush in the world … I’ve DM’d [direct messaged] her 10 times when I was drunk every year, for 10 years … I was like, ‘If you’re ever in London, lemme take you for a drink!’… she never responded.”

A love for Margot Robbie seems to be something the cast have in common, with fan-favourites David ‘Temps’ Templer, Yasmine Zweegers & Sam Prince all agreeing she is their “Aussie crush” and the dream Aussie co-star.

When asked about the appeal of dating an Aussie, Tristan explained, “Australian women are fantastic. They’re stunning. Do you know what I love about Australian ladies? I think they’re very forward, like, not afraid to make it apparent that they fancy you … You’ve just got a good positive outlook on life.”

While viewers are used to seeing explosive fights on screen, Temps confirmed the dynamics within the “very dramatic friendship group” were already off to a rocky start before they’d even landed in the country.

“The first week of these two [couple Sam & Yas] could’ve been better. I very lovely and nicely got given business class flights to Australia but unfortunately I had to sit next to these two arguing for 24 hours the whole way here.”

Not denying their relationship issues, Yas interjected: “Yeah, we had a rocky couple weeks in the beginning.”

As for what they did between filming scenes for the show, Temps didn’t hold back.

“Honestly, I went to two of the best parties I’ve ever been to in my whole life … We turned up to this magnificent house [in Potts Point],” he explained.

“It was over five floors. There were butlers everywhere. We went downstairs. They had their own club in there … it ended up being one of the best things we’ve ever been to.”

Unfortunately, one of the things Temps didn’t get to do was go to the Post Malone gig, a night he’d been looking forward to for months.

“I bought tickets to Post Malone for Liv [co-star Olivia Bentley] and I, and then she dumped me, so we didn’t get to go to that.”

Missed concert aside, the cast was quick to call out the best parts of their Aussie trip, including the discovery of ‘Better Beer’ (by the Inspired Unemployed), Australian coffee, the Bondi to Bronte walk, Budgy Smugglers, sitting next to Nicole Kidman at Icebergs and BBQs on the beach.

All hugely popular tourist attractions, sure, but Temps rated another Australian-ism even higher.

The “best thing” about being Down Under, he declared, was “how you drink beers out of your own shoe.”
