Soap star hits back over vaccine mandate - NEWS.com.au

Aussie soap star Ingo Rademacher reveals why he is suing his former TV bosses after being fired over vaccine mandate.

Former General Hospital star Ingo Rademacher has spoken out about his lawsuit against American Network ABC in a TV interview.

The German-Australian actor sat down with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tucker Carlson Tonight, available to stream on Flash, and spoke about his decision to sue the network over its vaccine mandate following his departure from the long-running daytime drama after he refused to comply with the policy, according to multiple reports. Rademacher had applied for a religious exemption but was denied.

“I can’t turn a blind eye when I see people being bullied and coerced”, the 50-year old said.

“In a way this fight kind of chose me and even though I’m the one that’s bringing this lawsuit to ABC/Disney, this is much bigger than me.

“This is about basic human rights and the medical freedom to choose and it’s about all the people that have already lost their jobs and the ones that are going to lose their jobs in the future because of these corporate vaccine mandates.”

The veteran soap actor said he was confident and hopes his case can make an impact.

Rademacher was one of General Hospital’s longest-running cast members, on the show for 25 years before.

The actor states the company was taking religious exemptions, which he applied for and was denied.

“If I see corporations bullying people and coercing them, I can’t just do that. I’m adding to the problem if I would have done that,” he said.

“Walking away, of course it’s a great job, great income but there’s no choice here for me.

“If we don’t choose what we are allowed to put in our bodies, we don’t own our own bodies anymore then the government owns you.”

While the soap star said he does support people who want to take the vaccine and not against vaccines he does not care to take this one.

Rademacher is not the only actor to exit General Hospital over the vaccine mandate. His co-star Steve Burton left the long-running soap last month after he refused to get the jab.

The actor said he applied for “medical and religious exemptions” but was denied.
