"It's actually come back positive, so yeah, I've got COVID-19," he said in a series of clips on his account.
Mitch has recently had three other Islanders staying with him in his Melbourne apartment, including girlfriend Tina Provis.
"Tina, Ryan and Aaron have been staying with me so we're waiting for their results back which is not good," he continued.
"We're currently doing a 10 day quarantine in here in Melbourne, in my apartment and basically none of us can leave or anything so I just thought you guys would want to know."
Despite contracting the illness, Mitch seems to be doing well and right now isn't experiencing severe symptoms.
"I feel a little bit sick but nothing too bad," he said.

"It's just an eye-opener on how serious this is and hopefully everyone can get double vaccinated 'cause it's not a nice situation so everyone stays safe and takes care."
Since posting the update, Mitch thanked his followers for the amount of support he's received.
"DAMN you guys are the best!!! Already blowing up my dms with love!" he said.
"We are out of iso on the 23rd so hopefully we can see our families for Christmas. Everyone stay safe."
Tina also took to her Instagram story to explain the situation.
"Just found out that I'm gonna be stuck in the house with Mitch, Aaron and Ryan. We all did a COVID test yesterday and Mitch's has come back unfortunately as positive," she said.
She explained she's been sick, but has had two tests which have come back negative since Mitch's diagnosis already.
She continued, saying, "It's put a huge damper on all of our plans for Christmas… It's super shattering that we're not gonna be able to do any of those things but it's nice that we still get to have this time together and thankfully we've not been hit too hard by COVID."
Mitch and Tina no doubt stole Australia's heart during their time on the show.
The loved-up couple were crowned the winners of Love Island Australia for 2021.
Since the show ended, the pair have been inseparable, travelling between Melbourne and Sydney (where Tina lives) to spend time with each other.
