Britney Spears quits music, rips into dad and sister in furious Instagram post - NEWS.com.au

Britney Spears has announced she is quitting music in an explosive post as she ripped into her father and sister.

The US pop star, 39, took to Instagram blasting people who judge her oft-critiqued dancing videos she uploads on social media, before going into a scathing rant about her dad, Jamie Spears, who has helmed her conservatorship for 13 years.

“I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think,” Spears began.

“I’ve done that for the past 13 years … I’d much rather share videos YES from my living room instead of onstage in Vegas where some people were so far gone they couldn’t even shake my hand and I ended up getting a contact high from weed all the time … which I didn’t mind but it would have been nice to be able to go to the mother f**king spa.

“And no I’m not gonna put on heavy makeup and try try try on stage again and not be able to do the real deal with remixes of my songs for years and begging to put my new music in my show for MY fans … so I quit !!!!”.

Spears then took aim at her younger sister, 30-year-old Jamie Lynn, for performing her hit music in public, seemingly referencing a performance by Jamie Lynn at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.

“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply !!!!,” Spears wrote.

“This conservatorship killed my dreams … so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill …”.

Elsewhere in her recent post, Spears took aim at “women” who think it’s “weird” she still has hope for fairytales.

“Go f**k yourself,” she wrote. “As I said … hope is all I have right now … you’re lucky I post anything at all … I’m gonna go read a mother f**king fairy tale right now !!!!

“Psss if you don’t want to see my precious ass dancing in my life room or it’s not up to your standards … go read a f**king book.”

It comes after Spears’ surprise court appearance on Wednesday for a hearing in her ongoing conservatorship case, in which she sobbed as she begged the judge to have the conservatorship lifted.

“I would like to charge my father with conservatorship abuse,” a tearful Spears told the court, as per CNN.

“I want to press charges against my father today,” Spears said. “I want an investigation into my dad … I’m angry and I will go there.”

Britney also reportedly told the court that she thought those charged with carrying out the conservatorship “were trying to kill me” and called the arrangement “f**king cruelty.”

“If this is not abuse, I don’t know what is,” CNN reports her as saying.

Others with access to the hearing have reported more disturbing quotes from Spears today. She reportedly told the court she was promised the conservatorship arrangement she’s lived under for 13 years would end after 2009’s Circus world tour: “During the Circus Tour, I was told if I just be good and follow the rules they will end it,” she said.

Elsewhere, she is reported to refuted claims she lives with mental illness, telling the court: “The thing that made me crazy was that my family never cared for me.”

The court ruled that Spears would finally be allowed to hire her own lawyer for the case. She has chosen former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, who attended the hearing.

Rosengart is expected to push aggressively on Spears’ behalf for the conservatorship to be terminated.

Lawyers on both sides will meet on Monday ahead of a September 29 hearing.

Spears’ previous lawyer, Samuel Ingham III, resigned from the conservatorship two weeks ago after Britney criticised him during her explosive 24-minute testimony at last month’s court hearing, claiming that he gave her little information about her legal options and had advised her to stay quiet about the alleged mistreatment she had suffered.
