Meghan Markle has delighted fans with an appearance during the Vax Live telecast, showing off her growing baby bump.
The Duchess of Sussex discussed the effects of COVID-19 in her message, including that a generation of progress had been wiped out for women of colour.

The recorded statement seemed to take place in the garden of the $18.7 million mansion she and husband Prince Harry’s own in Montecito, California.
“As campaign chairs of Vax Live, my husband and I believe it’s critical that our recovery prioritises the health, safety and success of everyone, but particularly women who have been disproportionately affected by this pandemic,” Meghan said.
“Women, and especially women of colour, have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out.”

Noticeably cradling her baby bump, Meghan continued: “My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter. It’s a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world.
“When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward.”
The Duchess also whipped out a lot of statistics during her statement, saying: “Since the pandemic began, nearly 5.5 million women have lost work in the US, and 47 million more women around the world are expected to slip into extreme poverty.”
Meghan stated that the “future leadership” of young women “depends on the decisions we make and the actions we take now”.
“We want to make sure that as we recover, we recover stronger; that as we rebuild, we rebuild together,” she said.
This is Meghan’s first appearance on American television since the bombshell tell-all interview she and Harry did with Oprah in March.
Her message comes after Prince Harry warned against the “politicisation” of COVID-19 vaccines in a video that was recorded backstage at the Vax Live concert.
“I think the most worrying thing for me and my wife ... is science being politicised,” Harry said in the black and white clip.
“When we’re talking about life and death, which we’re talking about now, vaccines cannot be politicised.”
He added: “We must ensure that everyone around the world has equal access to the vaccine, otherwise none of this works.”
Vax Live: The Concert To Reunite The World was held to celebrate the global COVID vaccination program and to encourage world leaders to make vaccines freely available.
