Julia Morris and Angela Bishop joke after showing up on live TV in the same dress - NEWS.com.au

Julia Morris and Angela Bishop expertly diffused a potentially-awkward live television moment today after both fronting up on Studio 10 wearing the exact same outfit.

The beloved television personalities laughed the moment off with aplomb, avoiding a repeat of the infamous #jacketgate moment of 2017.

Appearing on Studio 10 to talk about her new book, tongue-in-cheek self-help book Julia Morris Makes it Easy, with Beau Ryan and Sarah Harris, Morris popped up on screen in a striking purple and pink dress, only to be interrupted moments later by Bishop in the very same floral number.

“Can I just interrupt … Can I get a piece of advice Julia: What happens when you turn up on national television wearing the same frock as someone else?” Bishop asked as the panel erupted in laughter.

“What I wanna know Ange is who wore it breast?” Morris quipped, standing up with her chest to the camera.

“You took the words right out of my mouth,” Ryan joked, before Morris added: “You look gorgeous … I have to get my own modesty board but check this out,” she said as she lifted her leg up to show off sneakers.

Bishop replied by revealing she’d paired the dress with classic black Christian Louboutins.

It’s certainly not the first time a live cross has seen two presenters in the same outfit.

In 2017, off-air footage of Channel 9 reporter Julie Snook being berated by newsreader Amber Sherlock for wearing a similar colour top to her during a live cross made headlines across the world, forever to become known as #jacketgate.

In the infamous meltdown, an annoyed Sherlock can be seen barking at her colleague to put a jacket on.

“I need Julie to put a jacket on because we’re all in white. I asked her before we came on – Julie, you need to put a jacket on,” Sherlock demanded.

As Snook began to explain she just hadn’t had time to source a jacket before going into the studio, Sherlock cut her off: “Come on, I told you two hours ago.”

Sherlock then pulled her iPhone out and informed Snook she’d personally call the Nine wardrobe department to “get something”.

Fellow guest, psychologist Sandy Rea, could hear all this going down from her studio and looked appropriately uncomfortable with the exchange. But the passive aggressive back-and-forth continued.

It’s become a joke that won’t die – with former Studio 10 star Kerri-Anne Kennerley resurrecting it in 2019.

Ten newsreader Natarsha Belling, wearing a white top, had finished reading the morning’s headlines when a similarly white-clad Kennerley interjected.

“Excuse me, Natarsha? We sat next to each other in make-up this morning and I told you I was wearing white. I mentioned it right off the top, Ms Belling. Get a jacket,” she said firmly, to mock-oohs from the rest of the panel.

“My wardrobe budget is much smaller than yours,” said Belling, before perhaps realising the quip was a little close to the bone: “I’m only joking! You’re breaking up, bad line. Anyway, good chat! Back to you now …”
