Vinnie Jones shares final note wife Tanya gave him before dying - NEWS.com.au

Vinnie Jones has shared the heartfelt note his wife left him before she died of cancer.

Appearing on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on Saturday, the 55-year-old Snatch actor broke down in tears as he talked about his wife Tanya, who died in 2019 aged 53 after a six-year battle with skin cancer.

After the show, he thanked fans for their support on Instagram, sharing the last note Tanya left for him before she died.

On the front of the card, it read: “Always believe something wonderful is about to happen.”

“To my love Vin, something wonderful happens to me every day … Being with you!” Tanya wrote.

“You are my morning sunshine the moment I wake. With all my love.”

During the Piers Morgan interview, the former footballer admitted that it would be “impossible” for him to marry again, saying that he had the “perfect one and done” with his wife Tanya.

Jones married his wife in 1994, after meeting as teenagers, and was there with her until her final moments.

“They said to us maybe days, maybe weeks, maybe months,” he explained of her illness.

“I was on my knees howling. You find yourself going to Forest Lawn cemetery to make arrangements before she passed. You think you’re in a horror dream. That is the only way to describe it.

“I knew the pain was horrific, I knew it was time to stop and I begged the nurse to stop it.

“All of a sudden she took her last breath and I felt all of these butterflies leave her. You’re just not in real time … I felt all these butterflies, Tinkerbell, and she was free. Painless.”

It was in 2013 that both Vinnie and Tanya developed melanoma. Tanya had already undergone an emergency heart transplant when she was 21, and had already been treated for cervical cancer twice.
