The Bachelorette’s Angie Kent compares Ciarran to Regina George from Mean Girls - NEWS.com.au

Former Bachelorette Angie Kent has slammed her former reality TV flame, Ciarran Stott, declaring she would have kicked him off her season early on if she’d known what he was really like.

The once-popular British contestant’s controversial appearance on the current season of Bachelor In Paradise has seen him take a spectacular fall from grace, after first winning hearts across Australia on The Bachelorette last year.

In a scathing comment under a Mean Girls meme posted on the Bachie Funny Instagram page, Angie wrote: “She doesn’t even go here! Sorry Straya! If I knew (what he was like) sooner, I would’ve sent him and his hype man home second episode when I sent old mate politician home, because NO ONE f**ks with my sisterhood.”

The “hype man” she is likely referring to is Timm Hanly, Ciarran’s close friend, who was a runner-up on Angie’s season of The Bachelorette and who has also faced backlash over his behaviour in Paradise.

The “politician” is Noosa councillor Jess Glasgow, who was kicked off the show by Angie after displaying misogynistic behaviour.

Under her original comment, Angie added: “Sorry that at some point we were all victimised by Regina George.”

In what’s sure to have proven a serious blow to Angie, the truth about Ciarran’s emotional departure from The Bachelorette surfaced during an episode of Paradise last month.

It was revealed that he’d lied when he’d tearfully told Angie he was bowing out of the campaign to be her boyfriend in order to attend his grandmother’s funeral – and that he’d actually left to reunite with ex-girlfriend Renee Barrett.

It’s not the first time the former Gogglebox star has hit out at the ex-contestants from her season who are now appearing in Paradise.

Just last week, Angie took to Instagram to accuse her former love interests of using her to score a spot on the spin-off show.

Alongside a picture of herself with a glass of wine, she wrote: “Me sitting here knowing that 98 per cent of the fellas from my season were cast and only there to get on Bachelor In Paradise.”

Angie added that so many men from her season were in Paradise, that it should have been renamed “98 per cent from Angie’s Season of the Bachelorette in Paradise.”

Among those in Paradise who first appeared in Angie’s season are Timm Hanly, Ciarran Stott, Jackson Garlick, Matt Whyatt, Alex McKay and Niranga Amarasinghe.

She went on to take a thinly veiled swipe at the “manipulators” who were cast on the show.

“I certainly gave it my all and learnt some swell little lessons about myself/dating/bro code/manipulators and love … even if it wasn’t my forever love. I still conquered my fear and surrendered to the scary L-letter word,” she wrote.

In the Bachelorette finale last year, Angie declared her love for Carlin Sterritt, and the pair went on to have a relationship for several months.

However, they confirmed their split earlier this month following weeks of speculation.
