LIVE: Masked Singer 2020: Dragonfly revealed as Sophie Monk - NEWS.com.au

Tonight, Sophie Monk finally revealed herself from beneath the mask, despite fooling bestie Jackie O with an on-air phone call last week.

“Everyone thinks I’m that moth,” she’d answered abruptly at the time.

Opening up about her first performance in almost two decades, the former Popstars reality star said she was “embarrassed to sing in the shower” after being “burnt by the industry.”

“There’s something about the disguise that makes it so much easier to just bring out confidence,” Monk, who had sung Ke$ha’s Tik Tok during the episode, said.

“You’re not worrying about what people think about you. No-one was judging me.”

The ARIA-nominated star – who has shut down rumours of a Bardot reunion in the past – added that appearing on the show made her “miss” the stage.

Monk is the fifth star to be unmasked, following international sports star Mark Philippoussis,  cricketing legend Michael Bevan, iconic singer Christine Anu and five-time ARIA winner Katie Noonan.

Updates

Sophie Monk, reveal yourself!!

We're about to find out who Dragonfly is… do you think you've cracked the clues?

Well we're officially stumped, but Dannii is sure it's Red Symons.

Jackie, meanwhile, thinks it's Andrew O'Keefe.

Urzila wonders whether it could be Kyle Sandilands, hanging on a to a breakfast radio clue.

His follow-up clue, lederhosen, prompts Hughesy to guess The Hoff.

… Could it be?

In his eerie, nightmarish voice, he tells us: "I have a deep love for what I do.

"The best bit is interacting with the public.

"I get even more out of it than they do. Of course, I do it all on my terms.

"I don't follow anyone.

"I have many strings to my bow.

"But I find that four are usually enough.

"I like the tropical heat. In fact, the sun has no visible effect on me at all.

"No sunburn for me!" he says with a deranged cackle.

"I've been many things in my life. Morphing from one thing to another.

"I hope the other Masked Singers never wake up…

..that the Puppet is stalking them."

Yikes!

He busts out Despacito in baritone and the judges are baffled.

Frillneck reveals he's played the Kalimba for Nelson Mandela.

Dannii thinks it's David Campbell, Jackie thinks it's Paul McDermott and Urzila throws a guess of Tim Minchin into the mix.

As for Hughesy?

"With this African reference I reckon it's Desmond Tutu," he tells Osher.

Viewers have a far better idea, however, and are convinced it's Eddie Perfect.

Singing a perfect rendition of Tears for Fears' emo 1983 hit Mad World, Frillneck brings the goosebumps while dominating the moody stage.

He also appeared to be playing the piano for real despite costumed hands.

Hmm..

Following the performance, Urzila reveals she "has a thing for necks".

"It could be the flaps," she says of her thirst for Frillneck to laughter from her fellow judges.

"What you don't know about me would fill a book.

"Maybe I'll write that book. I love to tell an Australian story. Or maybe not.

"What I do is very diverse. Some of it would scare your socks off.

It's hair-raising.

"But I don't want you to think of me as some kind of monster. I just believe that when you're in the middle, you need to go big or go home.

"Most of my life I've worked with others, but sometimes you have to go out on your own before the horned lady sings," he adds, as suited security guards tap dance in clogs.

"Well, there's no horns tonight, just frills. And it's my turn to sing."

Meanwhile, on Twitter…

Pouring cold water on speculation he's Puppet, beloved comedia Shaun Micallef has hit out at the show with a hilarious tweet.

"Just for the record, can I state categorically that I would wouldn't watch #MaskedSingerAU, let alone appear on it," he wrote.

Ouch!

Osher reveals a collection of letters in a diary as Queen's additional clue tonight.

"These are the very first love letters I ever received, and a reminder of an important time in my life," the mystery singer teases to the judges.

Dannii changes her guess to Tina Arena, given she has a French husband.

"I was so sure, and I flipped one way and the other between Jess from the Veronicas to Kate Miller-Heidke, but I tell you I've flipped right back to Tina Arena now. She's married to a French guy now. She would definitely have kept a diary. She lived in Britain for a long time. I saw her there many times…"

Queen's sassy rendition of Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend has the judges in a spin.

That opera-inspired endnote?

We are certain it's Kate Miller-Heidke, and so is Dannii.

Urzila, meanwhile, thinks it could be Ellen DeGeneres.

Wouldn't that be something.
