Australian actress Adelaide Kane has obviously been Googling her net worth, because she was stunned by the internet’s analysis of her apparent fortune.
“So I found out today the internet thinks I’m worth $4 million,” the 30-year-old former Reign star said in a TikTok video posted last week. “My crippling debt says otherwise. WHERE?!”
That reference to “crippling debt” prompted a comment from one TikTok user about Kane’s TV earnings from her 78 episodes on Reign: “But but u were on reign and it says they paid u 15k for each episode,” they wrote.

Kane responded with another video, offering fans a detailed breakdown of where her money has gone. She explained that much of her earnings are divvied up between her agent, manager, lawyer, business manager, publicist, stylists, hair and makeup artists. She’s also taxed heavily for being a foreign worker in the United States, and rent was also added into her breakdown of costs.
“Generally speaking, SAG [Screen Actors Guild] minimum for a series regular on a network show is $20,000 per episode,” she began.
“Say I did 78 episodes on Reign; that pares out to $1.56 million for four years of work.
“So, assuming that I’ve made $5 million in my entire career since I started working at 16. Here is how that breaks down.”
Kane explained that her agent and manager each take a 10 per cent of the money, with five per cent each going to her lawyer and business manager. 30 per cent went to taxes.
“So, I lose 60 per cent right off the bat, which leaves me with about $2.2 million over the last 14 years,” she said.
“Which if you average it out comes down to $178,000-ish a year which would be fine, a good wage. Except I have to pay rent in major cities, sometimes two cities at once.”
The actress then explained how she has had to fork out $2000 to $3000 a month for a publicist and social media team, a stylist costing her $700 to $1500 per outfit and $1000 for hair and make-up artists.
The video which was filmed in her bedroom has clocked up more than three million views on TikTok.
In a later video, Kane defended her spending habits, insisting she’s saved a lot of her earnings.
“Just to be clear up, every actor I know saves as much as humanly possible, because most of us go for months or sometimes years at a time between jobs,” she said.
“And we do get residuals, but... So, I’m fine, but my savings won’t last forever, do you know what I mean?”
