Simon Cowell has opened up about his electric bike accident which landed him in hospital and forced him into six-hour emergency surgery.
The America's Got Talent judge, 60, who is currently recovering from breaking his back, revealed on Twitter that he should have done his homework before jumping on the bike.
"Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time," Cowell tweeted. "I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages."
He added: "And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone. Simon."
Yesterday, it was reported that Cowell had a bike accident at his California home.
The 60-year-old executive producer's rep confirmed the accident and his current condition to People on August 8.
"Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family," they told the publication.
"He hurt his back and was taken to the hospital. He's doing fine, he's under observation and is in the best possible hands."
Surgeons reportedly had to fuse his bones and implant a rod during the emergency operation.
Since the accident, Cowell has taken a break from filming two episodes of AGT. The show is currently in the middle of filming its 15th season.
