Actor Dan Wyllie pleads not guilty to assaulting wife Shannon Murphy - 9News

Award winning actor Dan Wyllie has denied assaulting his wife in their home in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Mr Wylie is accused of assaulting film director Shannon Murphy at their home in Woollahra in March.

He was excused from attending Downing Centre Local Court today due to coronavirus restrictions when his lawyer entered not guilty pleas to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault.

Mr Wyllie was arrested yesterday.

The actor won a silver Logie in 2004, and has starred in Love My Way, Underbelly and Offspring.

Ms Murphy is an award-winning film and theatre director, who directed two episodes of popular TV series Killing Eve.

Police said an apprehended violence order remains in place.
