US singer Bebe Rexha has revealed the extent of her horrific eye injury after being smashed in the face with a phone during a concert at the weekend.
The 33-year-old was performing in New York City on Sunday but was forced to cut her performance short after a fan threw their phone at the stage, hitting Rexha in the face.
Rexha took to Instagram on Tuesday to share two photos that showed her no doubt painful injury.
Her left eye has been left severely bruised and has turned dark purple in colour with medical tape on her eyebrow after needing three stitches.
She captioned the post, “I’m good”, and held a thumbs up with a small smile in the first image.
The second photo looked to be taken straight after the incident, which was said to have happened about 10pm, with Rexha’s glittery makeup ruined and a tear and blood stained left cheek.
Friend Demi Lovato wished her a speedy recovery.
“Love you girly ... I’m so sorry this happened to you,” she said.
Music platform Spotify also showed their support: “We love you Bebe.”
Police have since charged New Jersey man Nicolas Malvagna, 27, with two counts of assault, one count of harassment, one count of aggravated harassment and one count of attempted assault, according to Rolling Stone.
Mr Malvagna admitted he was purposely trying to hit Rexha because he thought it “would be funny.”
“Malvagna not only confessed to throwing the phone. He also stated, ‘I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny’,” police said.
At the time of the incident, Twitter user Alex Chavez shared a video that showed Rexha falling to the ground after she was hit.
He wrote: “Absolutely great show ruined by a fan throwing their phone at (Bebe Rexha) hopefully she is OK after that.”
Concertgoer Ross Bernaud also tweeted a video of the star leaving the stage following the shocking incident.
He wrote: “This is Bebe Rexha being rushed out of the concert venue here in NYC after someone threw a f..king phone and hit her face as she was leaving the stage.
“We were all having a hell of a good time and so was Bebe, we were all having a blast, I mean who would even do that??? We hope you’re OK.”
The singer-songwriter, who helped write songs for Shinee, Selena Gomez, and Nick Jonas, has eight shows left in the Best F’n Night of My Life tour.
The next performance, in Philadelphia, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday but Rexha and her team have not yet confirmed if the remaining concerts will still go ahead.
