Aussie star Naomi Watts has married fellow actor Billy Crudup in a low-key courthouse ceremony on Friday.
Watts took to Instagram on Saturday to confirm the news she is now married to the American actor, who she began dating in 2017 while filming the Netflix drama series Gypsy.
Crudup and Watts, both 54, were recently seen with wedding bands on their left hands, sparking speculation that they had just gotten married.
In the post, which Watts captioned “Hitched!”, she is seen wearing a white Oscar de la Renta Sweetheart Water Lilly Guipure dress while holding a bouquet of white flowers in hand.
According to the label’s website, the lace gown is a “timeless A-line silhouette” and retails for about $8,000 AUD.
Several fellow stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Shailene Woodley, Helena Christensen and Justin Theroux commented on the post to congratulate Watts and Crudup’s wedding.
Paltrow wrote “yipee! Sending so much love !!” while Woodley added “aww congratulations beautiful!”.
Watts’ Mulholland Drive co-star Theroux also celebrated the couple and wrote “congrats to you two!”.
Watts, who has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress twice, was born in England but emigrated to Australia as a teenager and began her career with local roles in shows like Home and Away.
She achieved Hollywood success after appearing in David Lynch’s cult film Mulholland Drive and cemented her status with starring roles in hit films like The Ring, 21 Grams, I Heart Huckabee’s, King Kong and The Divergent franchise.
Crudup has starred in films like Mission Impossible: III, Alien: Covenant and Spotlight and won an Emmy for his role on the Apple+ series The Morning Show.
Friday's ceremony is the first marriage for both Watts and Crudup although they both have children from previous relationships.
The Aussie actress was previously in a long-term relationship with actor Liev Schreiber, with whom she shares two sons.
Crudup was previously in a relationship with Claire Danes and also has a son with Mary Louise Parker.
