Cockburn council worker stops truck during rubbish collection to take out woman’s bins after she forgot - PerthNow

Not all heroes wear capes.

Some wear hi-vis and collect your rubbish every week. Just like this Cockburn council worker who has been crowned a “legend” by the local community after pausing his rubbish collection to manually pick up a woman’s bins whilst it was raining.

Beeliar resident Rachel has had her “faith in humanity restored” overnight after the worker stopped his truck during the early morning rubbish collection to manually collect her bins which she had forgotten to take to the verge.

CCTV footage shows the veteran rubbish collection truck driver stopping his truck, getting out and running over to grab the woman’s bin and bringing it to the verge for the truck to collect.

The heartwarming video was shared to the WA Incident Alerts Facebook page and has been greatly appreciated by the Perth community, labelling the garbo the “employee of the year”.
